We provide supporting
Services
Southside Community Care Inc seeks to provide a service,
which makes a positive difference in the area of homelessness.
Southside Community Care Inc provides a holistic response to families and
individuals who are housed and supported through the organisation.

Service 01
Crisis Accommodation Service
The Department of Housing and Public Works provided with 2 properties to assist homeless families under the Crisis Accommodation Assistance program.
We also own four properties to offer affordable accommodation to some tenants exiting our homeless service.
Service 02
Supporting Families
Our Family Support workers are available to our accommodated families to help them manage issues surrounding their homelessness. The accommodation is short term, so the aim is also to support families to increase their housing options to enable them to move on to independent accommodation.
The support workers help families:
• Liaise and link in with a variety of services that members of the family need,
• Connect with schools for their children,
• Connect with agencies to support their Mental Health
• Gather documents and complete forms for housing and income opportunities.

Service 03
The thrift Shop
Items in the thrift shop are donated by the community. Donations are firstly put in the Crisis Accommodation properties, and as families often come with few belongings, we provide essential household furniture and items. Items not needed for the properties, are then put in the thrift shop. Items include a variety of clothing, crockery, and bric-a-brac. The prices are reasonable to cater for those in need, also providing a source of income to put towards the services we provide for homeless families in our Crisis Accommodation program.
The thrift shop is at the office at the end of the driveway.
Opening hours: 9am to 1 pm when volunteers are available to open it (Mon – Fri only.)
Look for the sign at the office gate or call 33431441 for daily information.
