Welcome to Southside Community Care, a not-for-profit community organisation that has been assisting disadvantaged families for over 40 years.

Southside Community Care Inc seeks to provide a service, which makes a positive difference in the area of homelessness.
Southside Community Care Inc provides a holistic response to families and individuals who are housed and supported through the organisation.

About us
SUPPORTING FAMILIES

Our focus is supporting and accommodating homeless families. These families may be two parent or single parent families but the main criteria is that there is a least one child under the age of 16 years.

CRISIS ACCOMODATION SERVICE

The Department of Housing and Public Works provided with 16 properties to assist homeless families under the Crisis Accommodation Assistance program. We also own four properties to offer affordable accommodation to some tenants exiting our homeless service.

Community members donate items for the houses and the thrift shop and these funds go towards the services we provide.

Do you need Assistance with Housing?

Ring us if you need help and we may be able to. Our housing service is in high demand and if you ring the office, you may be asked to leave your details and some information about your circumstances (a phone referral). You will be asked if you have been logged on the Queensland Homeless Information Platform (QHIP) which is governmental system to help link homeless people with potential vacancies. When we have a vacancy, this is also put on QHIP for other organisations to access.

Any information you provide remains private and confidential and is kept for the purpose of assessing your eligibility for our services.

Deb W is the Service Manager who looks after the day to day running of the service and deals with tenancy matters. She works with Deb S as part of the property team

Our office admin is the person who is most likely to answer the phone when you ring the office, to take messages or referrals.
