We help our community
Welcome to Southside Community Care,
a not-for-profit community organisation that has been assisting disadvantaged families for over 40 years.
About us
Southside Community Care.
As a Specialist Homelessness Service SCC offers Crisis Accommodation and support to Homeless families with the support of the Dept of Communities and Digital Economy and the Queensland Department of Housing.
Family homelessness is less visible because it is often ‘secondary homelessness’ which means that families are in temporary accommodation where they have to keep moving around. This effects the capacity to keep children at school, maintain employment, and a stable lifestyle. The staff are very committed to help these families.

Do you need Assistance with Housing?
Our housing service is in high demand and if you ring the office, you may be asked to leave your details and some information about your circumstances (a phone referral). You will be asked if you have been logged on the Queensland Homeless Information Platform (QHIP) which is governmental system to help link homeless people with potential vacancies. When we have a vacancy, this is also put on QHIP for other organisations to access.
